This phase will constitute the development of an intensive professional staff development program in which 21st Century Schools consultants will work with teachers in your country or state, as well as lecturers from your universities. This team will provide the professional development and ongoing support to ensure that your teachers become 21st century teachers, your classrooms become 21st century classrooms, and your schools are providing students with 21st century education!
1) Program Design
21st Century Schools partners with your school or organization to ensure the sustainability of the standards of 21st century education. Our organizational partnerships will vary in size and scope, but are always aligned with your existing strategic plans and innovation goals.
A key component of a 21st century schools is the curriculum and instruction, however, it is most successful when supported by the appropriate Learning Environment and Context are in place.
Our proprietary planning model results in a three-year 21st Century Education Initiative that has as its goal the sustainable implementation of 21st century education across a system. The plan generates a flexible but structured rollout of professional development and other services. It outlines benchmarks and goals. It allows development of local 21st century educational capacity among teachers, site leaders, and district administrators. This work occurs under the guidance of our systemic partnership coaches, who have extensive experience helping systems go to scale with complex initiatives.
2) Create and Support Model Schools
A group of select schools in your country will be identified to serve as Model Schools for this initiative. These schools will serve as models and training centers for teachers throughout the region as they implement policies and strategies to support 21st century education. These schools will receive intensive professional development and support from 21st Century Schools and their consultants and partners.
3) Bilingual Materials Development
Teams from 21st Century Schools, teachers in your country and organizations such as ministries, universities and foundations will collaborate on the development of materials in English and your country's language, including printed materials, online resources and videos to be utilized in your 21st Century Teacher Education Initiative. This phase will include video production for professional development.
4) Recommendations for Technologies and Support Services
Specific tools necessary for the successful implementation of this program will be identified and recommended by the Consultants. These will include items such as tablet computers, cameras, videoconferencing equipment and services such as videoconferencing, and online/virtual classroom environments for both teachers and students. Finally, we will assist in recommending products for use by students, in the classroom and beyond, as one identifier of 21st century education is that learning takes place any time, anywhere. The professional development programs will include technology integration into curriculum and instruction, blended learning and/or flipping the classroom.
5) After School and Enrichment Programs - we offer a variety of possibilities for after school programs that are highly motivational to students, support the development of 21st century skills and connect with the school curriculum. 6) Conference on 21st Century Teaching and Learning - our unique conference is an excellent way to inform, inspire and motivate all the educators in your organization or country.
