21st Century Schools would be delighted to create a proposal for your project. As each school or district is unique, with unique needs and goals, 21st Century Schools does not use "canned" proposals. After we understand the needs of the client, we create an in-depth, personalized, custom proposal. These proposals can take up to two weeks to prepare and refine. Therefore a fee is charged, credited toward consulting fees upon signing a contract with us. For more information, please contact us.
21st Century Teacher Education Initiative - with a global scope, this is a customizable program designed to support taking the schools within your organization, be it a school district, a state or a country, into the 21st century. It is designed to support foundational change, where it can be sustainable.
Instructional Coaching - this is a blended learning program for a campus faculty. The research is clear on this: effective professional development is blended, personalized and job-embedded. Beginning with determining your needs and goals, followed by an on-site Needs Assessment, this plan is designed to take place over a period of time. Services, or methodologies, include on-site workshops for large groups as well as for teams, providing personalized classroom coaching, supporting teams in curriculum design,
introducing new concepts and strategies and supporting implementation and change. Off-site you will receive online support, both synchronous and asynchronous. Also online, we can help you create a database for your campus or your district with resources for your teachers and your students; these may include curriculum resources, in particular, the PBL21 (21st century, project-based learning - the next step in the evolution of PBL) units your faculty create collaboratively; student and teacher portfolios; thematic resources for children's literature and much more.
Developing Instructional and Professional Development Coaching Teams - part of effective professional development means that we help you to become self-supporting as soon as possible. Instead of hiring coaches from outside, we help you develop your own, built-in support structures. Beginning with an initial group of coaches, we support them in honing their coaching skills and then in training a next level team of coaches. You then have a permanent, in-house sustainable coaching team on your campus!
Conference Planning - we can design a powerful, exciting conference experience for your organization including keynotes, breakout sessions and entertainment. As William Glasser, M.D. and noted educator said, "Learning is serious, but that doesn't mean it has to be grim."
Keynote Addresses - Are you planning a conference? It won't be complete or truly "21st century" without us! We have delivered keynotes in the USA, Turkey, Vietnam and Canada, and would be happy to provide keynotes on a variety of topics related to education in the 21st century.
Needs Assessment - a thorough needs assessment either for a campus, a district or even a country.
Strategic Planning - utilize 21st Century Schools' Needs Assessment to set goals for targeted improvement, establish assessments to evaluate progress, and design incremental steps toward success.
Curriculum Audit - Utilize a variety of strategies to analyze your curriculum, instruction, assessments, grading and reporting. This process is guided by 21st Century Schools' two compasses for 21st century education. Your curriculum will be aligned to national and state standards and will implement project-based, interdisciplinary (when appropriate) curriculum, guiding education away from test prep and toward an authentic educational experience for students.
Curriculum Design - we can guide you through the process of creating 21st century curriculum units or we can design curriculum units for you.
Unit Review - we can analyze and evaluate your units of curriculum, programs and courses. We can then provide a detailed report of our review, outlining strengths, weaknesses and recommendations for improvement. We also can assist you in the redesign of your units to ensure that they are aligned to standards, and that they are relevant, rigorous and real-world.
Organizational Feedback - design custom online surveys to gather feedback from any or all stakeholders. These can be used as part of your continuous improvement plan.
Facilities Planning - we have partnered with the top architectural firm in the world when it comes to designing a learning environment that truly supports 21st century learning. At 21st Century Schools we have spent more than 25 years teaching about and continually researching the physical learning environment. We have determined that the only architectural firm in the world that truly understands the relationships among facilities, pedagogy and learning is Fielding Nair International. Please visit this page, then contact us for additional information. You will also be happy to know that these schools are not only beautiful and support learning, but the cost to build them is about half that of a traditional school building.
Living Schoolyards - the school building is not the only part of the physical environment which must be intentionally designed to support learning. Schoolyard design requires special attention as well. Again, after years of research on schoolyards we have deemed the top designer to be those designed by Sharon Danks. Her designs completely support our vision of 21st century education.
